01 · Keep cooking lightPlease minimize heavy cooking such as deep-frying, searing and grilling. The hood only filters the smoke — it cannot vent it outdoors — so heavy cooking quickly fills the unit with smoke and haze.

02 · Mind strong odorsPlease avoid cooking foods that give off strong, lingering smells — dried fish, fermented dishes, heavy garlic or curry frying. The odor clings to the curtains, beddings and upholstery long after the meal.

03 · Control the heatCook on low to medium heat and always stay in the kitchen while anything is on the hob. Never leave cooking unattended, even briefly — it is the leading cause of home fires. More in Staying safe.

04 · Run the range hoodSwitch the hood on before you start and let it run a few minutes after you finish. It helps clear light smoke and steam — just remember it filters, it does not exhaust.

01 · Safe containers onlyUse microwave-safe glass, ceramic or plastic. Never put in metal, foil, or plates with a metallic trim — they spark and can damage the oven.

02 · Cover the foodCover food loosely with a microwave cover or leave the container lid ajar, so steam can escape and food does not splatter inside.

03 · Heat in short burstsSet the time and press Start. Reheat in 1–2 minute bursts, stir in between, and continue until hot — food heats more evenly and does not overcook.

04 · Never do thisNever run the microwave empty, and never heat sealed containers, eggs in their shell, or foil pouches — they can burst. Wipe any spills right away.

01 · On and offPress the orange OFF/ON button to start or stop the unit. The display on the remote shows the current mode and set temperature.

02 · Temperature & modeUse the TEMP ▲ ▼ arrows to adjust. We suggest 24–25 °C — cool, comfortable and easy on the electricity. Keep MODE on COOL; if the display no longer says COOL, press MODE until it returns.

03 · Fan, swing & comfortFAN SPEED/QUIET cycles the fan — AUTO works well. AIR SWING changes the louver direction. POWERFUL/ECO gives a fast cool-down or an energy-saving mode, and SLEEP eases the cooling gently overnight.

04 · While it runsKeep the windows and balcony door closed so the room cools quickly, and please switch the aircon off whenever you leave the unit.

01 · Use the ironing boardAn iron and a folding ironing board are provided — you will find both in the wardrobe cabinet. Open the board fully until the legs lock, and iron on it only. Never iron on the bed, the sofa, the tiled floor or the countertop. Between passes, park the iron on the metal rest at the end of the board. Keep the cord away from the hot soleplate, and fold the board away and return both to the wardrobe cabinet when you are done.

02 · Match the heat to the fabricCheck the garment label and set the dial to it — low for synthetics and silk, medium for wool, high only for cotton and linen. Start cool and go up; a too-hot iron scorches instantly. Test on an inside seam first.

03 · Never leave it, everStay with the iron while it is plugged in. When you pause, stand it upright on its heel — never face-down, not even for a moment. Keep it well away from curtains, beddings and the balcony door.

04 · Finish properlyTurn the dial to minimum, unplug, and stand the iron upright to cool completely (about 20 minutes) before putting it away. If it uses water, empty the tank while it is still warm so it does not drip or scale.

01 · Ask the front desk firstThe lobby reception downstairs knows which shops are currently doing pick-up and delivery to the building. It is the quickest and most reliable way to arrange it — simply ask on your way out.

02 · Or walk to one nearbyTaft Lounge Laundromat on Taft Street is the closest, about 700 m. Laundrybest on Donato Pison Ave. and Bubbles & Bimmers on Q. Abeto St. are both around 1 km; Wash Lounge on Huervana St. keeps long hours.

03 · How it worksLaundry here is charged per kilo, usually same-day or next-day. Hours and rates change, so do confirm when you drop off. Powder can talk you through the options any time.

04 · Please, not on the balconyDo not hang washing on the balcony railing — the building does not allow it on the facade. Dry anything light indoors instead.
